Ben Lomond Descent

The ride that we are most famous for….. and justifiably so ...is mostly downhill (sorry, yes that was mostly!) so hold on and enjoy the ride.  Mountain Biking how it used to be, adventure riding along with fantastic views of the rugged Ben Lomond National Park.

Our local guides will take you on one of the ultimate mountain bike descents possible in Tasmania with a total drop of 1050 vertical metres. Starting in the alpine Ski Village at 1450m, this awesome trip takes you down the spectacular Jacobs Ladder road before connecting to old four wheel drive tracks through the Eucaplypt forests. There is also a fantastic single-track section, which has recently been discovered which descends through fantastic old forest.. We then continue on fire trails and other single tracks to our finishing point at The Ben Lomond ALpine Resort BASE at 400m.  Here we have a hearty lunch prepared by the BASE staff which is included as part of the tour.

No prior experience required, you just need to be able to ride a bike.  We will tailor the ride to suit you.  We can offer extra technical sections for those with a more extensive MTB background.

Cost: $295 or $255 if you meet us that the BLAR BASE (includes: transfer to/from Ben Lomond, lunch & snacks, bike, & helmet)

Departs: On demand

Time: 6-7 hours (including transport from Launceston and return)
